1212799 2011-06-28 01:00:00 Recently I bought an Intel 40GB SSD to use as my OS drive. Since I started using it I've had all sorts of problems ranging from BSOD's to login/random slowdowns where apps/web browsing lock-up and even task manager failing to start.

I can't mind much on the web. I did find this www.theregister.co.uk which says you shouldn't defrag an SSD.

Has anyone else had problems?

1212800 2011-06-28 01:02:00 Did you do a fresh install onto the SSD? SolMiester (139)

1212802 2011-06-28 01:14:00 Try this--May or may not bring up something useful.

Assuming its W7 - click start, type in reli -- open "view reliability history" Look to see what the errors are at the day/Time, maybe some sort of software corruption, or other problem listed.

1212803 2011-06-28 01:17:00 May not necessarily be the SSD which is causing the issues...I failing drive will lock\release...delay write etc...not normally a BSOD.
W7 will not defrag a SSD...I think you have some other driver conflict or corruption...Do you use windows update for drivers?

1212804 2011-06-28 01:27:00 Prob doesn't help you but I've used a 40GB intel for about a year now with no probs... pablo d (15490)
1212805 2011-06-28 04:42:00 I have an OCZ Vertex 3 and when I first got it I had almost one BSOD daily.

Latest firmware seems to have fixed it however I notice that I'm getting occasional lag, and IE9 locks up every now and then, however I think that it may be my Windows install, probably needs to be redone since the new FW.
