1214617 2011-07-04 06:16:00 I downloaded Bearshare last night but now do not want it.
I have deleted it in the "Add/Remove" but it still stays
there as my home page. When I try to change my
home page to Yahoo via TOOLS, OPTIONS the comp says
"can not change the home page". Any ideas how to get my
Yahoo back as the home page please.

1214618 2011-07-04 06:24:00 Is Mediabar installed?? I removed bearshare from my uncles PC last night. I think it installed mediabar as well. I take it, you mean uninstalled not deleted? Speedy Gonzales (78)
1214619 2011-07-04 06:54:00 Hi Speedy, Looked in Add/Remove and there was Mediabar,
Removed it, and then changed home to yahoo.
Now all good. Thank you for a speedy and successful reply.

1214621 2011-07-04 12:12:00 Run a scan with Spybot, that should remove and remnants of it. Agent_24 (57)
1214622 2011-07-04 22:21:00 Just goes to show, when you install stuff you really need to read the options instead of just clicking next until it finishes. I see people with multiple toolbars installed all the time, none of which they use or can even recall installing. dugimodo (138)
1214623 2011-07-04 22:48:00 Yeah, I see that a lot... it doesn't help that they often present the toolbar as a 2nd set of terms and conditions (for the toolbar) with an 'I agree' button - I believe this is how people get tricked, they just blindly click the "I agree" buttons without reading what they're actually for. 1214624 2011-07-06 00:19:00 Install software who's whole purpose is pirating then........:badpc::badpc:

Go to control panel, internet options, advanced, reset
this will reset homepage & disable toolbars & addon's
IE will love you for this cleanup.
