GPU: Sapphire HD5670 1G

Does anyone have any comments on this?

1213994 2011-07-02 02:18:00 Oh forgot the different power supply, Coolermaster 500w eXtreme Power Plus nedkelly (9059)
1213995 2011-07-02 02:23:00 wouldnt you want atleast a 5770 (or 6770 revised version) for current games? suppose it depends on the games tho. Isnt that cpu abit old too? passmark doesnt even put it on the high end page. do you (he) have a budget? icow (15313)
1213996 2011-07-02 02:23:00 So by current games what do you mean precisely?

Budget?

1213997 2011-07-02 02:25:00 Athlon X2 is weak, the low end of the low end, get a Phenom X4. The 5670 is also not great, I'd say get NVIDIA 550 or AMD 6770.

1213998 2011-07-02 02:31:00 he is not a high end gamer, and I am trying to keep below $1000.
Anything would be better than the P4 2.6 he is using now

1213999 2011-07-02 02:46:00 Try either of these:
Both just over $1050 IIRC
All parts from elive (not shopping round for the best deal)

Don't use a bundled PSU. get a Corsair.
And WHY do people also stint on the graphics card? Fine if he isn't into games but you just said he wants to play current games.
GPUs come out every year, games are what drives the hardware industry.

It's a lame card, go take a look at Toms hardware and the VGA charts, get something at least mid-range.

If budget is a problem last years good card is better than this years **** card.

1214002 2011-07-02 04:49:00 What size is the LCD he is using, this will dictate what GPU he needs..... SolMiester (139)
