1185201 2011-03-11 11:08:00 So what evidence, 12Volts, have you that Ken Ring will say that?

It appears that you are making a prediction for which you have no evidence at this time.

I see nothing wrong with making predictions, I don't pretend they are scientific.

But if Ken can't predict a major quake in Japan, then his theory is of no practical use.

1185202 2011-03-11 15:06:00 The beaches here (California) are all closed anticipating the tsunami hitting them, although the height is unknown .

The US Naval Weapons Center in Seal Beach, CA has sent all their USN ships to sea in a 'safe move' just in case .

I see there is a 'cooling system situation' in one of Japans nuclear generating station in the tsunami flood plain .

Hawaii is getting hit from the tsunami although all I can see is from web cams since everyone's gone to higher ground . The waves in Hawaii are 7-10 feet high .

I hear a complete commuter train is missing in Japan too . Since it's close to midnight in Japan and so much electricity is out, it's going to be unbelievable when daylight returns .

Huge fires are raging all over Japan - Tokyo included .

1185203 2011-03-11 16:58:00 Well -- the tsunami in SoCal is a bi-labial fricative in the horse latitudes.

Nothing more that PERHAPS a slight roughness in the wave forms - but no waves of which to speak.

1185204 2011-03-11 20:15:00 Hope for everyones sake these stay put : One article (www.latimes.com)

The Tokyo Electric Power Company said the cooling function at the nuclear plant had been knocked out causing the pressure in the reactor to rise, but there was no radioactive leakage.
In Japan, four nuclear power plants have closed. President Barack Obama held a news conference in which he said that there have been no reports thus far of any radiation leakage from the Japanese power plants.

Did just see on TV3 a report that they meant to have automatically shut down like designed to do ?

1185205 2011-03-11 20:25:00 I wonder if we are going to see these water damaged cars pitching up in NZ later on? prefect (6291)
1185206 2011-03-12 00:21:00 Whilst not downplaying the enormity of the disaster - I've got friends in Tonga (Vava'u not Tongatapu) and Maui -the TV media click into their well worn routines. Last night both the main TV 1 and TV 3 News' hooked into a live Japanese tV feed and played that non stop, ad-nausium. No new information, gross speculation, repeats of the same news footage - just like they've done with both the Christchurch earthquakes and Pike River!! Bloody tedious.

On one of the helicopter clips of a flooded area the reporter, who felt he had to say something but didn't really know what was going on, actually said "things are very fluid down there!" :horrified

1185208 2011-03-12 01:51:00 I wonder if we are going to see these water damaged cars pitching up in NZ later on?

Your most likely correct. Didn't this sort of thing happen once before when a whole lot of jap riteoffs were shipped here and rebuilt??

1185209 2011-03-12 02:03:00 Can't believe some people.
You know no-one seemed to be paying attention to the first one in Japan? On Wednesday.

Took till now.
Have a look people:
earthquake.usgs.gov

A list.
We think it's a rare event, not really. Comes down to news coverage.
www.telegraph.co.uk
Haiti had around 250,000 dead. It's still an ongoing disaster zone there.
Not that anyone cares now, it's old news.

And Japan, a hell of a mess now.

Not to be derogatory to Ch/ch people, but hey, you were lucky really.

And all that seems to draw attention on the forum is the stupid argument over Ken Ring.
Hello, there's earthquakes quite often.

1185210 2011-03-12 02:08:00 There has been some damage to harbors here in Washington State and Oregon.

Fourteen foot tsunamis and related in-out washes damaged a lot of boats and docks and stuff nautucal.

The tsunamis that hit out beaches close to me are just ripples and a slight swell that gave a whirlpool or two inside and just outside the private harbors. This might be the penumbra properties of our Channel Islands creating a safe zone on their lee sides toward our shores.

Nowhere as bad as Japan of course.
