Just wondering what sort of connector this is - would this connect to data projector?

1214604 2011-07-04 04:16:00 Yep, BNC. Used with Coaxial Cable, often for ancient networking, or more commonly video surveillance systems. Not for projectors, although theoretically if you had the right gear you could transmit various signals, eg UHF, over the cable. wratterus (105)
1214605 2011-07-04 04:20:00 Thanks wratterus and Speedy Gonzales!

Would I be able to convert that to RCA using this plug?

Cheers :D

1214606 2011-07-04 04:23:00 The BNC cable you have now is already male, so no, you'd need a female - RCA adapter. You are better to run a new cable for the projector - I assume this is what you are trying to achieve here? You could always attach the new cable to the coax that's there already and pull it through.

It's probably possible to run a normal composite video signal (Eg, out of a VCR or DVD player) over coax, I've never tried, but you'd be better off chopping off the BNC ends and putting your own RCA ends on the cable if you wanted to try that.

Your RCA end looks decidedly like a female RCA > male RCA adaptor already??

Can't you simply pull it out and end up with an RCA plug?

BNC connectors are also used in lecturns, DMX's etc for littlite connectors. Keep that BNC, might be useful :D
