1216108 2011-07-11 11:01:00 Does anyone know where to find the model of this laptop. The sticker underneath gives the serial & part numbers. I'm trying to find the model number so I can get the right drivers from the Toshiba website. The website is not helpful. It appears that if you don't know the model, you're stuffed. Speccy reveals nothing
Thanks

1216109 2011-07-11 14:20:00 I would download and install at programme such as PC Wizard which should be able to tell you your model info and much more.

latest file release is www.cpuid.com

from www.cpuid.com

hope this is of some help.
Good luck.

It should say the model number too.

Give them a ring and give them the serial number - they'll tell you if it doesn't say.

yeah - normally it's two blocks of 6 characters, like PSL40A-00B225

It has got that number PSLS1A-01200K. But that number means nothing when searching on their website. It should be L500-SP6016M or something like that for me to be able to search the site

I'll do as pctek says & give them a ring

1216113 2011-07-11 21:57:00 Took me 15 secs to find that model on the Oz support site.

Go here.

www.mytoshiba.com.au

Just pop that model # into the search box, or failing that in the drop down boxes put Computers, then Satellite pro, then L500, then your model, then your OS, and away you go. Couldn't be (much) easier! :p

Thank you for that. The Toshiba.com site is useless compared to that one

Cheers

Ah - that wouldn't have been helping. I always go for the Oz site www.mytoshiba.com.au or if it's not there the Europe site also isn't too bad, at least the search parameters are pretty wide so it's easy to find drivers for a whole model series.

eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com

Funny that, I found the same for Canon printer drivers. Didn't think of looking further than the end of my nose this time lol

1216117 2011-07-11 22:26:00 I've noticed that with ASUS mobos. Some models arent on some sites. It'll be on one ASUS site, but it wont be on another.

Theyre only in specific regions.
