| 1215508 | 2011-07-08 00:32:00 | I have an issue where a users MS Excel is crashing when trying to enter in formulas in particular spreadsheets. I want to find out a bit more before contacting the user again. Excel is running on a Citrix setup with 8 XenApp servers the servers run Windows Server 2008 (not R2). User is using Excel 2010. The spreadsheets the user is working with a larger in size around 5MB some of her spreadsheets are up to 20MB but contain images. Does any one have any idea about recommended file sizes for Excel spreadsheets I feel this could be the issue, user has stated that other users in her office aren't experiencing the same issue. I think if the user runs the spreadsheet from her local Windows XP desktop with an older version of Excel there are no problems. So I figure the Citrix enviroment may also be the issue. Tried removing the users Normal.dot file as I have heard of Word 2007 crashing all the time for no reason and this is an easy fix. Only other fix I can think of is resetting the users profile which maybe a last resort but may not fix the issue. |

| 1215510 | 2011-07-08 02:26:00 | From the MS site Excel spec's (office.microsoft.com) -- Could be either some clash with another program, or even not enough available memory when opening the larger spreadsheets, a lot of the spec's in that list state "Limited by available memory" | wainuitech (129) | ||

It is not common but I have resolved crashes by disabling the option. Not saying this is your issue but might be worth a try. These times was nothing to do with Citrix though. |
