1186141 2011-03-14 22:08:00 This sort of thing happened with the WinXP service pack updates, there was a flurry of reported failed installs from all over the place, in most cases as Wainuitech said the other day, problems arise if the current installation has errors, flaws and bugs, possibly of which the user is unaware.

May not be the case in these particular reported instances, but as MS is not forthcoming as to why, it could well be the reason.

1186142 2011-03-14 22:21:00 Meh won't even download for me through Windows Updates, doesn't get past 0%. Might have something to do with me starting it, changing my mind and canceling it a while ago.

Not too fussed either way

1186146 2011-03-14 23:57:00 I've installed it on about six PC's now without any problems. It does however take a lot longer than the original Windows 7 install, probably two or three times as long.

But at least it h as b e e n pr - o bl 8e& m f*5 r e * e so f*%# ar.:waughh:

You really need to get out more, or have they still got the bars up at the window and the door locked from the outside?
