1185492 2011-03-12 10:49:00 Well, today I took the plunge and bought a brand new HTC Trophy (www.htc.com) with Windows Phone 7 on it. It's a really nice piece of hardware and the OS is simply beautiful.

Love it! :punk

It's a real step up from my 3 year old Sanyo 3800.... I had some fun and games to-ing and fro-ing between 2degrees and Telecom's call centres because my old phone didn't have the right number on it and could'nt easily be transferred. But is all done now :)

So when your old phone starts losing battery capacity you find that the new phones can't give you back standby time because they are "doing more".

They were made by STC. We (DSIR) made various test rigs for STC to endurance test the keyboards and the lettering on the keys, as well as electrical test equipment
They had some problems initially with some of the BT plugs they made being a bit oversize, and there were getting stuck in the sockets.

So I designed go -not go gauges and had them made in hardened and ground gauge steel by our grinding room.
They were quite tricky and cunningly made from several fitting pieces.

STC found that they could push an oversize plug through the upper limit go gauge to shave it down to size. Not a recommended gauging procedure..........

Mine still only does calls and texts, don't need anything else since I'm not working and home all the time where there is a computer
