1215597 2011-07-09 06:20:00 Hi, if you dont want a big brand name case or flashy case with neon glowy bits on it. I have just built a system for a client and used a YY5801 ATX Mid Tower Black Case with Sata Top-Dock. I have added some attachments for you. It has an external SATA dock at the top for quick drive access or a standard SATA drive, the drive bays inside are cross mounted compared to convential cases (many are coming out like this now), which makes for really easy removal or replacement (no have to worry about cables, memory chips etc being in the road), case comes with a large rear mounted cooling fan.

•SATA HDD Easy Access
•Supports 2.5" or 3.5" SATA HDD
•Quick Fastener for screw-less installation of devices
•Dimension 190mm W x 438mm D x 420mm H
•Drive configuration 4 x external 5.25", 1 x 3.5" external, 5 x 3.5" internal
•Colour - black

Under $100.
Not a bad case considering some of them out there.

Hope that is of interest to you - or anyone else.
Cheers

1215598 2011-07-09 19:28:00 That YY 5801 case looked great.
I liked to top mounting feature
And the side on hard drive case.
But It looks like there is not too much room for the sata cables that connect to the hard drive.
This would seem to need right angle plugs, which are harder to get.

There is more room than it looks but right angled ones look neater. they are easily available, many Mboards come with right angled SATA cables but you can buy them seperatly from http://www.ascent.co.nz/ do a search for SATA cables and they list heaps of them, many with 90 degree ends.

1215601 2011-07-10 01:29:00 You could get one of those cases with the sideways hdd rack thingy. Theres quite a few out there now.
EDIT: Saw Iantech's post.

1215602 2011-07-11 06:25:00 AVOID Thermaltake (I have one, its all bling & no substance). Have to remove the motherboard to remove the PSU !!!! Overall many really bad internal design issues , not just mine but others Ive seen.

AVOID screwless cases (I have one) . They often dont hold vid cards etc in securely enough. Screwless HD mounting can actually be quite useless when poorly designed.

Avoid cases where the Power Supply fan exits the bottom of the case, put in on
carpet & the power supply airflow is blocked (Thermaltake, you dog)
