Characters are weak

The concept has merit but so far has been lat down entirely.

It was so boring I went outside to watch the lawn grow, I found it un imaginative beyond belief and with no depth so I turned it off after the first 5 mins of the first episode

Two reasons, I think. Firstly is that Shortland St is where many learn their craft, and secondly, there are not all that many actors available in this country so you are going to see actors in more than one production.

That is both an oxymoron and, if true, a sad reflection on the standard of acting talent in New Zealand... :(
