1185691 2011-03-13 09:51:00 $135 will get you unlimited travel on Go Wellington buses (zones 1-3 - everywhere between Churton park/Jville to the south coast), not the Valley flyer or Airport Flyer :)

There's a $199 30 days pass that will let you go on any bus.Flyer services aren't Go Wellington as far as I'm aware - I was talking about a Go Wellington pass . So yeah, that wouldn't include things like Flyer, Newlands Coach, trains, taxis etc.

1185692 2011-03-13 09:55:00 I think Go Wellington is apart from Jville/Churton and up north Porirua etc ..
They need a per fare issued (discount if you have a reloadable card).
No all you can use card unless you pay $199 then it's all you can use Mana/Go Wellington/Valley and Airport Flyer.

If you are in Wadestown, Khandallah (closest to Jville I think).
They can get the $135 all yo can use card right?

Yes that's right - Jville have Mana which is a separate system . You can't use the 199 card because it's Snapper-only . Any yellow, purple or orange bus is OK though :p

Yes you can :D
The $199 allows Mana too. I've used it before.
Used to commute from Mana areas to the airport (interchange at the city).
The $199 card is just a card that you show to the driver. No tapping whosoever.

1185695 2011-03-13 12:51:00 Hello all, I'm Joe, I'm 17 and I'm completing my A+ course in another 3 weeks.

I'm wondering after my full diploma(september or there abouts) is complete, out of which city should I pick.
...
however with me expecting to be earning only $40-50k per year thats quite expensive...

Where did you get the figure from??

Being 17-18 with no experience... Seems a little high...

I know recent graduates who make under 35k a year (if they can find work at all)...

Looking for a casual computer technician or retailer position

You imagine you're going to get that much??!!!

Helpdesk at an ISP won't even get you $40K.
Shop work less.

Have a look at this:

Embedded International Certifications
CompTIA A+
Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (MCTS)
Microsoft Certified I.T. Professional (MCITP) Server Administrator
Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
Price

36 week full time course.

Domestic student: $17 500.

The costs of first sitting for international examinations, all text books and G.S.T is included.

I must say, that looks like grade A bullshit. A+ and CCNA will cost around 1k at a polytech (certifications costs will cost about the same). You tell people they are going to make 50k a year and make you pocket 17.5k.

Yes I know its expensive, but it's what it takes.

as for the other stuff.

yes i know i can also expect some places to pay low, but considering a guy hadn't even finished CCNA and got offered a contract with TVNZ for level 1-2 tech w/ 50k p/a I don't see it being impossible
