| 1215896 | 2011-07-10 11:59:00 | I think it is failing . I have reloaded the OS and after a while it freezes now and then, it pauses and then resumes and the video driver may crash . I have run the bios HD checker and it gave a error . I have also plugged it into the PC (it's SATA) and it gave a bootup chkdsk I think . I have used Speedfan the quick test came was fine but the extended test said it was interrupted by resets . I am not going to run Memtest86 - how long should I run it for? |

| 1215899 | 2011-07-10 22:21:00 | Speedfan just uses SMART, and failures there are a good sign of problems. As suggested, run the manufacturers diagnostic utility, but I'd suggest it'll find problems. Running Memtest86 for an HDD fault is like hoping that a faulty oven at home gets noticed when you take your car in for a WOF. |
