1217094 2011-07-15 09:39:00 Hi All

Experiencing an unusual problem with my netbook keyboard. I recently connected a Dell Touchscreen LCD Monitor to it and installed the appropriate drivers.

A day or so later and now when I use my netbook's own keyboard or an externally connected one the keys don't do what they should. For example the 'w' key closes my web browser window and the 'o' key brings up my downloads folder!

I suspect that the Dell touchscreen drivers have somehow remapped or interfered with my keyboard settings.

Can't find the dell drivers listed under the uninstall programs option (control panel) or the windows update list (where I originally got it from) to be able to uninstall it.

Tried a system restore to a point prior to uninstall the (suspected) rogue driver update and still no success!

Any suggestions/comments?

1217097 2011-07-18 08:53:00 Does either keyboard have some 'clever' function where a special key lets other keys do different jobs?

A friend recently wondered why his function keys weren't working, turned out there was a button that toggled them from regular function keys to special office keys etc.

1217098 2011-07-18 09:36:00 Hi

Thanks for all of those suggestions but none of them helps eh. Really think it's something to do with the recent installation of the software/drivers for the Dell Multitouch LCD.
I am thinking this because it occurs on both the netbook keyboard and the external (USB connected) keyboard.

Any other thoughts?

1217099 2011-07-18 10:13:00 It's probably because you install them through WU that there's no uninstall option.

I never install drivers through Windows Update anyway, it always manages to screw stuff up like this.

Do the touchscreen drivers have options you can configure? Can you get a newer and proper version from Dell?
