1216505 2011-07-13 00:54:00 Got a Maxtor drive here, a 6H500F0 (500GB, SATA-3.0Gb/s)

It has a jumper on two of the pins, which I assume has something to do with a SATA 1.5Gb/s limit mode

The question is - does the jumper do limiting when it's ON or when it's OFF?

Seagate's site is useless as the product page for that drive can't be found.

Limits when on as I remember. You might want to confirm that though.

1216507 2011-07-13 02:09:00 Jumper on will limit it, though I'm not sure I see the need, unless it's going on a REALLY old SATA controller. inphinity (7274)
1216508 2011-07-13 07:46:00 I doubt there will be a need, but want to make sure that taking it off will actually speed it up.

Then again, it's probably old enough it would make no difference anyway

I've sent an email to Seagate reporting the missing page, maybe they'll fix it.
