1216416 2011-07-12 21:04:00 My XP computer with Google Chrome seems to get harder and harder to open the NZ Herald site. I've checked the hosts file where I had a problem on a previous computer, its fine.

The site often does not load up. Several minutes can pass and it will load up, sometimes links off it to storys will load, often they won't. Its getting worse and worse. What could the problem be?

No data received
Unable to load the web page because the server sent no data.

MSE, Windows Firewall.

1216417 2011-07-12 22:33:00 OK my laptop with Firefox, MSE, Windows Firewall seems to have the same problem. Could it be something to do with my Router? Danger (287)
1216418 2011-07-12 22:37:00 Not too sure if this will help, I have XP and use Chrome. I found the NZ Herald site slow and sometimes freezes so I downloaded "Adblock Plus" to block all those ad's -- which certainly helped. Good luck G. Grampsey (10603)
1216419 2011-07-12 22:47:00 Who are you using for your DNS? Your ISP's? I'd try out using OpenDNS, then flush your dns cache, and try again. Chilling_Silence (9)
1216420 2011-07-13 00:46:00 Yes I use OpenDNS, how do I flush my dns cache?

OK just googled and flushed, currently opening Herald, we will see how it goes. Thanks.

1216421 2011-07-13 01:07:00 Few minutes later, not connecting, usual behaviour. Danger (287)
1216422 2011-07-13 02:12:00 OK a few things:
Try changing to TelstraClears DNS, see if that makes a difference?

Your router, what is it, make & model?

Start a scan with NOD32 (Eset) Online Scanner, Malwarebytes and HijackThis, post the results.
Chilling_Silence (9)
1216423 2011-07-13 04:42:00 Telstras servers, no change other than every other website is slower on them I've found after chopping and changing.

Wireless-G ADSL Gateway WAG54G V.3

Will try the rest of the options as time permits, thanks Chilling.

1216424 2011-07-13 06:22:00 Ok everything clean with NOD32 (Eset) Online Scanner, Malwarebytes is clean and here is my Hijack This results. Remember two computers have the same issue here, I only scanned one, my main computer, not my laptop.

1216425 2011-07-13 07:27:00 www.foxsports.com.au is anther site that gives me the same trouble, won't load up, a few minutes later try again and it will, only for links from the first page not to work, takes for ever to get to the info I want. Both this site and http://www.nzherald.co.nz/ are sites I like to visit a lot. Danger (287)
