1188295 2011-03-22 02:06:00 I have recently had dealings with them.

They had my Pavillion laptop for at least 2.5 months and then returned it as not being able to be fixed [blank screen problem]

As they couldn't fix it I brought a new laptop

After I had it back I decided to take it to another repairer who fixed it within 5 days at reasonable cost.

To make the situation worse they [GIGA] returned it with the Wifi card missing so I had to pay for another Wifi to be fitted - I did not return it to GIGA to do that as I had no confidence in their competency

The community needs to be aware that you use GIGA at your peril as they are not competent or professional

1188296 2011-03-22 02:10:00 Welcome to PressF1, thanks for posting.

Just had a look at their website, they've stolen the Gigabyte logo too, pretty sure that's copyright infringement!

1188297 2011-03-22 02:24:00 I have notified Gigabyte in Taiwan of the logo theft....

EDIT: Ironically, there are a Gigabyte parts supplier. I suspect for not much longer....

1188300 2011-03-22 10:24:00 I tried them several years ago. Epic fail, and with zero interest in rectifying their shortcomings.
They were not on my Xmas card list then, and they are not going on it now.
I obviously can't say they acted like lying cheats, but I can think it.

1188301 2011-03-22 20:42:00 Couple of things here: Not defending them in any way - 2.5 months -- you got to be joking. :groan: 2.5 weeks maybe if waiting on parts.

If you paid Giga to do the work, and they couldn't fix it, but some other place could, then I would suspect under the CGA, you can be refunded your Money from Giga. ( with the possible exception if they charge an inspection fee - normally only a minor cost - Eg: HP charge $90 ) If they didn't charge because they couldn't fix it - then no come back, apart from them keeping your Wifi card -- which they have to give you back unless you stated otherwise.

Second: the logo -- Its not quite the same as Gigabytes - the gigabyte Logo has a red triangle under the G, where as Giga Computers has a Square -- so its not an exact copy.
And they may have permission to use it slightly altered since they are distubritors of Gigabyte.

Hmm . Maybe, but this is what I got back from Gigabyte (in Chinglish, as you can see :)):
