1187944 2011-03-21 00:27:00 I just saw a video on CNN website
It shows the aftermath of airplanes (French ?) attacking a Libyan armoured convoy.

I thought they were supposed to enforce a "No Fly zone"

Can Libyan tanks fly ?

He He

But deep down I am glad they did it as it gives the "rebels: in Benghazi a chance, otherwise they would have been crushed within a few days.

If the UN was a day later it would have been all over for the rebellion.

1187945 2011-03-21 00:31:00 Bizarre thing about all this...The Amercian anti-terror guy who has to think up how Gaddafi will hit back, was saying that they all know that he is a killer and has done it before.....

Why havent they sent in assassin teams to get rid of him?

1187946 2011-03-21 00:47:00 Be careful what you wish for.

Does Europe need a Mullah ruled sharia fundamentalist state, like Iran, on its doorstep.

One would have thought that Al Queda having shown support for the "rebels' what ever they may stand for, that maybe the west is being just a little precipitate in helping them to overthrow Gaddifi.

Perhaps the 5 Security Council members who abstained are a little smarter than those who signalled an assault by Britain and France aided by a reluctant USA, as neither Britain nor France alone or together, have the capacity now to do it.

Why yes they can fly:

I am all for the shooting because its good realistic target practice for the pilots

1187949 2011-03-21 02:25:00 Why didn't they drop in some anti-tank weapons ?

Yes I agree with some of you guys.

I would be nice in a perfect world if the rebellions in Tunisia and Egypy had time to settle down and have elections and see how those governments go for a couple of years, before the next wave of rebellions.

I tend to think that radical muslims will not get anywhere in Tunisia, but in Egypt it could be closer. It takes a while to build political parties - ask Hone!
I see they have voted against a new constitution as they don't think it goes far enough in getting rid of the old regime!

Not only that I don't think many of those people know what democracy is.
I mean we may hate National or Labour, but we wait till the next election to try to get rid of them.
As the Premier of China said - they don't want democracy where a new government gets in every few years and changes things back again.
Public schools Private Schools, ACC no ACC, Private Hospitals Public Hospital, Unions yes, Unions no. High Taxes for the rich. Low taxes for the rich.

I feel a good Who song coming on.

Yes, and its a good place to test your weapons.
Not a good advert for Russian tanks.

Now they need to order 100 cruise missiles to replace the ones they fired!
