1187218	2011-03-18 07:17:00	My Laptop (www.laptopspark.com) (netbook) is Degee I8B11D4 and recently it has picked up this annoying habit of stopping and freezing pretty much any program I run every 2 to 10 minutes. No matter the program, everything from Torchlight to windows explorer(actually froze firefox after typing that), the program will freeze and I will get the "not responding" message most of the time. The amount of time it will lock up varies roughly between 5-30 seconds and sometimes longer. My anti-virus(avast) tells me I'm clean, and I have defragmented and cleaned out my HDD. I even went through and cleaned as much dust as I could find and still to no avail. I have no real idea what is causing this. If anyone could help narrow my problem down I would greatly appreciate it. If post count is 1, check 2nd post to see if 1st post has been reported as spam. If so, read next thread. If not, read 1st post and carry on as usual. Never have I seen a forum with so much spam. If post count is 1, check 2nd post to see if 1st post has been reported as spam . If so, read next thread . If not, read 1st post and carry on as usual . Never have I seen a forum with so much spam . This forum is well-monitored and spam levels are not too bad . We are an attractive target for spam here because this forum is so popular . . . I run a forum for a group I run and have the sign up routine set so that I must approve every user . If the user has an IP address in Pakistan, China, Malaysia, Romania, Russia (anywhere in eastern Europe) or even the USA, they don't get a look in: immediate IP ban (with a wildcard on the last set of values) and immediate deletion of the user . Anything that looks a bit legit just gets an activation, but a block on posts (which I have to approve) until I am satisfied they aren't spammers . However I am lucky in that the forum I run is specific to New Zealand, so most overseas sign-ups could almost automatically be identified as spammers . Makes it easy in that they often sign up with usernames or email addresses that are obviously spam-related . Spammer = Dumb . The volume of sign-ups on this forum would mean that this method would be impractical, due to the fact that our two (obviously) most-active moderators are part-time and unpaid (but most definitely not under-appreciated!!) . . . .	johcar (6283)
