Why is the NZ currency so low, simple because NZ as a nation consistently spends more overseas than it earns when one takes into account invisibles. The Lange government set the rot when they created a climate where Brierley and friends could export NZ jobs to Asia, to maximise their profits while the taxpayer picked up the social cost. How in the hell can NZ have a successful happy society when there are insufficient real jobs to allow people to support themselves and their families and fund the cost of government. Some of us older Kiwis can remeber a time when the NZ Dollar was somewhere near parity with the Aussie dollar. |

People in work pay taxes = money for govt to spend on services, etc. Less overseas borrowing (ideally none! - lets lend money for a change!!!) (ROFL).
