Why not make full sized ones available as an option for those who need it - eg accountants.

I hadn't thought of that, I would have thought if there was a demand they would make them.

Save a lot of plastic.

1187922 2011-03-23 20:52:00 Yes you are right about the Mac being better for Graphics etc.

Once Photoshop was ported to Windows, that argument disappeared.

And try and find any decent accounting software for a Mac ?

When, or if, you ever need to insert an ASCII character into a document, like a macron for example, that isn't on the keyboard you will need the number pad as the numbers on the top row don't work for that.

Alt + 142 gives you Ä for example.

This is why I will keep the number pad on my keyboard thanks all the same.

I know at least Thinkpad (should be others) that make compact keyboards.
They even have a trackmouse and or moust stick on it too.

You seem to assume that those features couldn't be incorporated in the smaller key board?:horrified

1187925 2011-03-23 22:06:00 Damn!

I had not thought of those keys on the numeric keypad

I do use them occassionally.

But as someone says, there must be a way of implementing it on a smaller keyboard.

1187926 2011-03-23 22:21:00 Windows has something called "On-screen Keyboard". Works a treat ;) Chilling_Silence (9)

1187928 2011-03-23 23:01:00 I prefer my keyboards to have a numpad as I like using it. Agent_24 (57)

We were not thinking of taking your choice away, so you can relax.
