1187727 2011-03-20 09:57:00 I have many 0-post accounts on forums only because I wanted to view an attached image or download a file that was only accessible by signing up.

I may in future wish to post on some of those forums, and I would be a bit annoyed if I found my account had been deleted.

It also impresses some people when I come across an obscure forum, say "Oh yeah I probably have an account for this" and promptly sign in....

Given the negligible difference it will make to server performance I think leave them be.Ditto - performance impact is almost nil, so let 'em be.

Some of them will also be banned (keeping the account stops them re-registering under the same name), and some will be registered in order to use the various user control panel features (posts per page etc), or to receive new post notifications on subscribed threads.

1187728 2011-03-20 18:31:00 Yes there are probably alot of inactive members here who should be deleted. I saw someone once who had a birthday an they were 90. I wonder if they are still alive.

Snorkster must be posting from beyond the grave.

1187729 2011-03-20 19:30:00 I would liken this forum to talk back radio. You get the regular callers and others who call when they want to talk about something that needs to be in the public forum. Mostly with talk back radio you get an audience.

Some people have a fear of speaking to an audience and find it easier to put things on paper which is where this forum comes to the fore.

Whether members contribute to the forum or remain in the audience should be left up to them.

1187733 2011-03-21 03:36:00 Looking at his single post it appears the name was created only to test out if such a username could actually be used, I suppose that also explains 'what happened' to him... Agent_24 (57)
1187734 2011-03-21 05:27:00 I did a little statistical work and discovered that there are 2,285 people in the members list with a post count of zero.

What should we do?

don't know if this has been mentioned (haven't read the whole thread) but some of them may just use their account to be able to view attached files.

The people who haven't logged for 7 years on the other hand... :devil

Being rude is some peoples hobby.
