| 1188031 | 2011-03-21 20:34:00 | I think that our firearms laws are adequate and I would not like to see New Zealanders given the right to bear arms. We have a vetting system to ensure that a person is a fit and proper person to own a firearm. Especially for gang members' and drug pushers' !. Would have liked to have seen that 80 year old Asian lady packing a hand gun in her purse, instead of the good defence she put up. B'std appealing tooo. Lurking. |

| 1188032 | 2011-03-21 20:53:00 | When the American constitution was set up, there was no national defense capability so militia were formed to protect the settlers from threats to their life. When the Army, Police, etc. were established, the militia were dis-banded as the state governments had responsibility for security, so there shouldn't be any need for private citizens to bear arms for defence now. |

Anyway, I base my frustration on things like prices of stuff and availability of stuff, like how we get stuff months or years after every other country (or not at all) I talk to some americans who are frustrated about waiting for the latest japanese game release, they find solace in the fact that we're further behind than they are, despite being 14 hours in the future. |

Maybe they havn't heard of kamikaze pilots or the treatment of Pow's resulting from the unquestioning blind loyalty to the Japanese God-Emperor. I have notice expats often really trash NZ in forums, often ridiculously negative. Not sure what it is, I think they are showing there insecurity about there decision to move and are trying to convince others NZ is terrible. Seems NZ is better off without these insecure winging run away sissies. |
