The Parole Board decided to free Meads after a hearing on February 18. A written report of the hearing, obtained by the Sunday Star-Times, said Meads was still regarded "as posing a high risk of reoffending" and that was "unlikely to change while in custody".

There was no point therefore in keeping Meads behind bars and the board was "satisfied" now was his best chance for release, saying "with the very strong support that he has in the community both from family members and friends, his clear view of the future, his commitment to change and mature outlook, that risk can be appropriately managed in the community".

So wait, he has a high risk of re-offending but he CAN be "appropriately" managed in the community?
What does that mean?

We should let loose all our crims because they won't change their evil ways in/after prison??

So of course might as well let him to them to the public too.

And to think there are people who thinks we should rehab these things.

That Cato is known as an absence of logic .

1187963 2011-03-21 20:31:00 Based on this I think we should abolish the parole board and just let them out the first time they are eligible, at least it'll save us some money. Cato (6936)
1187964 2011-03-21 20:40:00 Abolish the Parole board? Good idea.

Let them out? Bad idea.
