| 1218551 | 2011-07-23 03:40:00 | *-I was unable to sort my daughters network problems and have told them to get professional help as they will need to get a network setup to suit their now business. Daughter has brought home a Toshiba Netbook which she is planning to use just for her personal use. We are unable to access anything on it as it is setup to connect to the old business network. I thought I could just start it in Safe Mode and try and reset it back to factory settings. This did not work as when it loaded the minimum drivers etc. it just left me at the login in screen asking for passwords, fingerprints and a pint of my blood sweat and tears !!! All I know is that it is running Vista Business. We just want to have it for personal and we don't want any logins. HELP PLEASE..:badpc::mad: |

| 1218552 | 2011-07-23 04:01:00 | Does it (should have!) have a recovery partition, in which case press the 0 (zero) key while booting from cold, will then reinstall vista as from factory, this will remove all previous data from system/os partition. Hopefully it does not have a bios password, though from what you said it doesn't. The zero key works on the larger Toshies, not sure about the netbooks, perhaps if you tell us the model, we can help you further. |

| 1218556 | 2011-07-23 05:35:00 | Try this - Finally go it uploaded - its a around 160MB ISO file that was built using the free BartPE builder, and the Free passwordrenew, that is designed for PE builder. Go to the following link Listed Here (www.4shared.com) - click on the big blue button that says "Download Now" -- Wait for the clock to tick over :sleep (free account) - then the new download appears. Ignore the pop up to install the tool bar. Save it to your Computer - once finished you need to burn the ISO file with a ISO burning software - if you dont have any, I of several I use infrarerecorder (infrarecorder.org). You install the program, with a blank CD in the drive ,open it, select Write Image, locate the ISO - - follow the instructions. Full Instructions On using the Bootable CD: Boot from CD Click on GO Programs – A43 File Management Utility ( may take a minute or two to open) Double click on PasswordRenew.exe Once it opens, Bottom right, click on Select Target Look for Local Disk (the drive letter my not be C ignore that) Scroll down, click on the Windows Folder Click OK On the left menu, click on Renew Existing Password From the drop down Box that appears, select the user account you want to change, Note: If doing mulit accounts, including the administrator, I suggest as a precaution doing one at a time ( reboot between changes) Once you have selected the account, type in a new password, then on the Left click Install. A window will open saying it was changed. Close that, click GO, Shutdown- Restart – remove the CD as its restarting, log into the account with the new password you created before. This has been tried on Windows XP & 7 and works perfectly. |
