| 1217859 | 2011-07-20 07:18:00 | I just booted up my laptop to find it complaining that it only had 10% charge left, and can't hold charge. I rebooted it and removed the battery, left it for a few, flicked the power button a few times to drain residual charge and all that, but HW monitor is still showing my wear level at about 60% and my max charge to be about 18000 mwh. Normally I unplug it when it's not on, and occasionally drain the battery. I was surprised to notice a couple of weeks ago my wear level had shot up from 3-8% to 20-25%, but this jump to 60 is completely unexpected. Any ideas on what could be wrong, possible fixes, and failing all else, where to get a new battery? |

| 1217861 | 2011-07-20 08:07:00 | well it seems the reporter on it is currently shot. It's reporting 123% charge at the moment, hah. | 8ftmetalhaed (14526) | ||

My battery IS shot, but at least the reporting is much more consistent now that I've done a few cycles - it was showing 100% for 15 minutes, then immediately going to standby. Now it discharges constantly at a steady rate - but still won't make it much past 30min :( |

Still going strong and cost about $70 then including postage so would be cheaper now. Just had a look for mine and is $29-99 US plus postage and the local ranges fron $150 to $170 nz | Jaybee (6629) | ||
