1188642 2011-03-23 06:29:00 How do you tell people NOT to send you all the c@%*p fwd things!

They either don't take notice, or they don't know how to remove people from their stupid news groups!

Ok, rant over, back to normal and remember to breathe....

Why don't you do the same with those emails as you would do with spam? Put them on the blocked senders list and never hear from them again.

I am guessing that we are talking about friends or acquaintances sending joke email here. Some can be good but too many can be annoying. If you block them you end up missing out on the sensible emails.

1188648 2011-03-23 07:28:00 At one stage I had a email filter to move any email which started with FWD: or FW: to my spam folder. somebody (208)
1188649 2011-03-23 07:32:00 I used to get chain mail, until I sent the main offender an email detaling how sending your email address to 100 people or so, any of which could potentially have an emaiil-harvesting spambot virus on their PC is a good way to end up with a ton of spam...

They shut up and stopped sending them after that...

1188651 2011-03-23 07:34:00 Following on from what Bobh wrote -- simple solution, and you wont offend anyone - use something like Mailwasher ( kiwi guy designed it to) :)

It shows you what mails are there before they come through - any you dont want, simply put a tick on the delete - and hit washmail - they will be auto deleted. BUT if there is a legit mail that you may want from the same person, you can allow it through.

I on average would get 50+ mails a day (often more) - but only about half a dozen I will actually allow through. The people sending them wont ever know you deleted them.

See the attachment - sometimes that crowd have good articles, but in this case I dont want it, so ticked delete - hit wash - and gone. (just cleared out 20 odd before coming on here)

Theres two versions of mailwasher, the free one that has an advertising banner along the top, or the Paid one as I have.
