2011-03-24 06:38:00 | But is it better or equal to IE9? LL WORSE - its now locked up on another site as well (technet) - the old version I had was perfectly fine today. The older version 3.what ever - when I increased the zoom, it went on every page or tab - FF4 doesn't.

2011-03-24 06:47:00 | Its a pain in the arse - IE and opera do continue the same size - see attachment to see what I mean - The one on the left is zoomed in to make it larger ( larger than I normally would), another Tab was opened and its obviously smaller - its a Tab pulled from the first window. Sorry FF -- no good. :groan: Looks like they are falling behind , it has a few "features" but they are gimmicks. I know a few people who have to have the pages zoomed quite a bit because of failing eye sight, and it wont be any good to them or many others if they have to manually adjust every page - my recommendation will be IE or Opera.

2011-03-24 06:57:00 | They got rid of the status bar for some stupid reason | Agent_24 (57) | |
2011-03-24 07:13:00 | The zoom setting sticks across tabs and pages for me. Perhaps I am lucky :clap I altered settings to restore tool bars etc so that it looks like I have been used to.....don't like uneccessary changes and bells and whistles.......:) I can't get the old status bar back though, there is an Addon bar at the bottom with the DownloadHhelper and ABP logos etc at the right hand end.

2011-03-24 07:18:00 | I've installed an add-on called "Status-4-Evar" which brings the status bar back :D Coupled with the "mx3" Maxthon theme it looks quite like Firefox 3 again now. I can't say I like Firefox 4's default look very much at all!

2011-03-24 07:27:00 | Right-o fixed the default Zoom - installed This add on (addons.mozilla.org) - now all tabs open at the level I set. Shame Firefox has to have an add-on to do what other browsers do by default. :groan:

It took a little while to notice that the reload current page button had moved across to the right hand end of the address box from where it had been on the left. |

2011-03-24 07:55:00 | Re the status bar - From Mozilla: That feature has been removed because it caused performance issues (slow down and CPU usage). It may return in a future Firefox 4.x version, but not in 4.0. You can see a counter clockwise spinning throbber during the connection phase and a clockwise spinning throbber during the loading phase. That progression bar didn't give a real impression of the loading anyway, so it was deceiving and thus removed. cough cough "bull sh1t" cough cough. Now we know one way how they are trying to make it faster -- remove all the previous features -- Then to get them all back a person has to install god knows how many add-ons --- thats a good plan :D
