| 1218388 | 2011-07-24 02:23:00 | Can depend on the parts. One day A certain relative of mine, after HE knocked it off the bench, decided to punish it and booted it round the room for a while. Once I saw it, it's poor case looked like it had been run over by a truck, the CD drive had burst out, the front switch was smithereens etc etc, Pulled it apart, panelbeated the case, re-jigged the switch so you touched the wires (now hanging out) together to start, put it's abused bits back in - and voila!! It went!!! For quite a long time - until it was retired. Yay for ASUS motherboards, worst beating one had ever had I reckon. Won't tell EQC that that I kicked the lappy around the room, it was the 21 inch monitor's weight that caused the damage. (they would make a damned good anchor). Lurking. Ps. must take it out of the hot water cupboard and try again and see if it works, excluding the cmos battery fault. lurks. |

Not sure exactly what that was for, but I didn't have the right change for it at the time anyway so I just take the whole lot back home again... |
