The guys that really know there stuff have laptops and test software. I suspect they are a bit higher up in the pecking order, and only handle the problems others can't solve. | PPp (9511) | ||

| 1217441 | 2011-07-23 03:50:00 | Progress at last! Speed is still low but very smooth with no breaks. Seems fast. They are checking the street wiring. I have ordered the Orcon "Genius" (iiNet BoB) naked Internet plan. Some say that this will improve the Broadband. Should be interesting and save $30 a month. |

Broadband is smooth, phone excellent, and contrary to popular opinion FAX works if the transfer speed is reduced to 7200 and the Class set to Auto. I am using 'Essential Fax'. The Windows Fax will not work as the speed is automatic. Best of all, I get 30gb instead of 20gb and save $40.00 a month! I also have a USB hard drive plugged in to it so all computers can access music files and videos. |

| 1217444 | 2011-08-03 10:39:00 | 15 now, another came two nights ago, and still no resolution. He pissed around changing the pairs from the demarc point to my router. Told him he was wasting his time, they've tried that 3x, but my electrician mate has rewired the house both power & phone, so there's just a single CAT6 to the patch-panel, straight into the router. No issues my end... but they just don't listen :-/ |

| 1217445 | 2011-08-06 09:50:00 | Having got "Genius' working well and Broadband much improved, Orcon have informed me that I will be transferred to a Cabinet which should improve things! What is the betting that they then tell me that the Genius with VOIP will not work from a Cabinet. A Telecom customer told me this, but he just wanted Naked Broadband and Telecom insisted on a phone line. We will wait and see! |
