| 1188943 | 2011-03-23 22:18:00 | Hi I have been playing Just Cause 2 on the PS3 for a while now, but eventually I am going to complete it (maybe!!). So..... I am looking for a similar style of game to immerse myself in. Can anyone recommend some good ones? Note that I am NOT a hard-out games player - I play Just Cause on the easiest setting, and just use it as an escape for a couple of hours every now and then. I also prefer the "more realistic" (if you can call JC2 realistic) games over the ones with aliens etc. Was looking at Alpha Protocol 2 but it's hard to tell from still images what the game play is like. TIA |

Then there's always Fallout 3 which is post-apocalypse. I'd recommend New Vegas too but apparently there are loads of bugs in the PS3 version. | Siobhan Keogh (16063) | ||

The best definition I could find for Just Cause 2 was a "3rd person shooter/sandbox" game. So I guess that is the style of game I'm after. Not really interested in a story - prefer the free roaming and mission style play that JC2 offers. Will look into Heavy Rain but could be too linear for me. :) |

| 1188947 | 2011-03-24 01:29:00 | Fallout 3 was very buggy on PS3 as well. I'm having a bit of fun with Borderlands as a sandbox type game but it's not too realistic, aliens and such like. | Hopper (14491) | ||

Oblivion is the best of the lot from Bethesda. On PC Oblivion was far better when you got community mods, but even then you needed a hacked version of Windows to play it perfectly. Fallout 3 wasn't that perfect, but it was enjoyably playable. Fallout New Vegas is a nightmare. Scripting bugs ruin the game, one false move and you'll break something or another. Strangely, it seems to be getting worse and worse as the patches come through. With 1.02, you'd encounter crashes as here and there, 3-4 restarts (through the entire main quest) and constant saving made it playable. 1.04 was a disaster, crashes every half hour or so. It's unplayable. Bethesda comes up with great concepts but they can't code for ****. I am scared to thing what will happen with Skyrim. Is Crysis 2 out in NZ yet? If so get your hands on that? |
