1190451 2011-03-30 05:17:00 The same Dick Smith who told me that I'd have to take them to court if I wanted my rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act - fortunately before I bought anything from them. I doubt they will stand by their products unless you buy an extended warranty.

So far haven't had these types of issues with JB Hi-fi so long may it continue, and hopefully it is only the Featherston Street (Wellington) branch of Dick Smith that behaves like this, as haven't struck that attitude anywhere else and JVille branch seem much better.

1190453 2011-03-30 18:04:00 It gets bizarre when the item is under a hundred dollars. JB - Hi-Fi has yet to ask me about extended warranties and they have been cheaper than Dick Smith. Twelvevolts (5457)
1190454 2011-03-31 16:03:00 I've always used the extended warranty as a guide to how long the Consumers Guarantees Act should last. I.E. Why would DSE offer me a 3 year extended warranty on an item they expect to last 2 years? Would be an interesting question to ask in a small claims court.
So I just write the length of extended warranty on the back of the receipt and file it in my warranties folder.
I don't buy the warranty.
