1190042 2011-03-28 22:51:00 I think Target on TV3 tonight may be worth a look.

Gaming consoles are covered and from what I hear most don't last as long as they should.

I may have it wrong but that was the impression I got from the advert.

1190043 2011-03-28 23:43:00 I've still got my original PS1. Bought it in 1999. Still goes well....(games are crap compared to what is available now though) johcar (6283)

Consoles tend to fail when the moon is in perigee (Supermoon). There was a huge spike in console failures around the 19th of March :stare:

Basically the increased gravity effects consoles hard drives causing bad sectors!

I learn something new almost every day. Does gravity affect you or does it just cause an effect?

But then I'm adaptable and don't have to quote the same over and over again. :)

A little entertainment for you:-

1190048 2011-03-29 01:25:00 Getting more serious I would hope they talk about more recent hardware and the reliability or otherwise.

But then I will watch Target and then come to my own misguided conclusions all by myself.

1190050 2011-03-29 03:18:00 Perhaps they don't. Individual ownership doesn't prove anything. You need to take a large enough sample and see the failure rate to see if something is actually crap or not.
I know both the PS (not the first) and the xboxes both have had issues, probably what Target will bang on about. Unfortuately I won't see it as husband has an extreme hatred of Target.

Some of it is ok, but I think some of their bullshit got up his nose and now he won't watch it.

From waht I've seen Target will probably take a sample of 2 and have one fail and conclude they're all crap.

You could be right. But I, for one, will watch it anyway.
