1190950	2011-04-01 09:04:00	A few years ago a roundabout was being built on the road between Invercargill and the Airport which is also the same road to Otatara and Oreti Beach. There was a report in the Southland Times that work had been stopped because prehistoric bones had been found. The roundabout had been declared an excavation site. A picture was shown of a perported Waikato University professor examining the bones. As a consequence people wanting to go to the Airport, Otatara or Oreti Beach had to take a much longer detour route to get there. I read the article after I arrived at work and had to wonder because I had driven through the roundabout on the way to work. There were no delays or detours that I noticed. Then it dawned on me what day it was.:D	Bobh (5192)
1190951	2011-04-01 09:53:00	One of the best I think, was a local Wellington station reporting that the Island in (where else?) Island Bay was sinking. Over several hours, the Island slowly sank until it disappeared below the waves. Local dignitaries were interviewed, among them local business representatives fearful of how Island Bay could no longer be called, "Island" bay (citing truth in advertising), local fisherpersons wailing that their fishing sanctuary was no longer, the "mayor" saying all stops would be pulled out to restore the Island to its former glory. Around 1983 on ZM if my memory serves me correctly. Does anybody else recall this? :D	WalOne (4202)
