1218793 2011-07-24 07:06:00 got an old a100 here (I swear it's not mine :D )
some kids cracked the lcd panel and a replacement is well over $200, so my friend has been using an external monitor, via a vga cable. laptop turns on, laptop screen backlight turns on, but no signal on external monitor. tried the button to switch between screens, function+f7 or whatever, that turns the laptop screen off but still no signal on ext monitor. noteworthy is that the laptop doesn't appear to be loading Windows - when turned on it starts up and hdd lights up for 2 seconds or so then stops. so I don't know why its not booting or why the screen isn't getting a signal. it does have a fingerprint scanner but I don't think they're used outside of Windows, is that right?

Seems like the laptop itself is dead - CPU/Mobo/Ram/Whatever else.

1218795 2011-07-24 23:59:00 Pretty sure that I have an old Toshiba A100 at work that I could giev you for parts, not booting as reporting corrupted DLL files but at least it's going if that's any help. Chemical Ali (118)
