1190894 2011-03-31 21:17:00 Hey, Just in line with my self-congratulation thread(I know, shameless lol.) I'm wondering what qualifications others have out there.

Mostly interested in the IT&T people in particular.

If you don't mind giving your job roles/titles and qualifications it would be appreciated :)

:thumbs: Awesome, I love it!! :clap

I'm doing nationwide support for a company, as part of a team of four. Everything from virtualization with VMWare and Hyper-V, to Active Directory, Lotus Notes, general PC fixit stuff, monitoring, maintenance, the works ...

Qualifications: Pretty much nil. I dropped out of Uni twice. First time I was 15 and couldn't handle full-time Uni and two part-time jobs. Second time I was bored as anything, and knew all the stuff I needed to, to finish my 3rd year, so figured I'd just go get a job *doing* ...

1190897 2011-03-31 21:46:00 I do have a IT qual but chosen not to pursue it.
Helpdesk was not just right for me having spent some yrs in the workforce.

Diploma in Systems Tech.
A+, Network +, MCP (XP Pro Desktop).

Prior;
BA and BCom in Economics and Management.
Postgraduate Diploma.

Now (part time), Graduate Certificate in Accounting and plan on my Assoc Chartered Accountant so I can switch my similar stuff to maybe more numerical. I find ACCY more relevant as every organisation needs a finance dept but not necessarily a Econ one. Even a project need their own finance person within their that org (or at least loaned for a few hrs a week from that org if the project is small). I didn't apply my Econ knowledge, I specialised in Micro than Macro and Micro is a bit more broad that it could overlap with other disciplines. I've done annual reports but obviously not the financial data.

I also found papers like Mgmt/Marketing too broad and not specific enough. Not sure if I would study my Masters in 'Financial Accounting'.

Mostly self-taught. Cant be bothered going for anything, if I have to pay for it. I'll rather learn myself. And help fix things / and people can pay me instead
