| 1190021 | 2011-03-28 10:10:00 | You do have to wonder about some stories on the news reports. home.nzcity.co.nz He comes to the conclusion that there will be more motorcycle crashes. Can I assume that ACC levies would probably go up and thus any money saved by using less fuel would be got back in another way? Not to mention that riding a motorcycle during rain is rather uncomfortable. Of course I could think about Auckland as a separate case as maybe a motorcyclist would not be liable for a possible congestion tax? It's like trying to choose an ISP and Phone package or choosing a power supply Company. They like to make it difficult to compare don't they? |

| 1190023 | 2011-03-28 10:29:00 | And:- "On the other hand motorcycle or any other two-wheeler crash tends to make nastier injuries than a car crash does, and therefore they are more inclined to cost more." Hence the dilemma. Hopefully you get the point now? |

Try to keep up and not attribute to me words I did not type. I note that you are another who quotes words out of context in order to try and make a point if you actually have one that is. Do you have a point? I may as well also ask, ( while I'm on the job ), what do you mean by saying, " We most ban them post haste! "? That does not even make sense IMNSHO. |

| 1190027 | 2011-03-28 11:04:00 | When I first arrived in this country & I saw how bad the roads are (design & condition). Couple that with the idiots that resurface the roads & then don't bother to finish the job by rollering the chip in & sweeping up after themselves. Then there's the standard of car driving, the optional indicators, drive straight out of a junction & hope nothing's coming. Maneuver, indicate & look, if your indicator is on, you think you've got right of way. The list goes on. Needless to say & as much as I love motorbikes, I didn't get one because of the above & I want to stay in one piece. | Phil B (648) | ||

| 1190029 | 2011-03-28 19:24:00 | With the rise in petrol I can see a lot of people buying small 50cc type bikes or scooters for getting around town. These are very cheap to run but you are exposed to the elements and have very little protection in the case of an accident. I own a small motor scooter but I only use it as a back up vehicle if my car is off the road. I can pull into a service station and fill it up for a few dollars. I feel safer in a car. |

What gets me about the people using them is how badly clothed they are for riding two wheels and the cost for that with ACC. eg. No gloves, proper footwear etc. |
