1189748 2011-03-27 04:03:00 this has been an issue for about two weeks.

a few sites are very slow to load, some even timeout.
mostly seems to be international sites.

friends on another ISP also have same issue....

is there a global network problem?

Could it be due to the earthquake?

1189753 2011-03-27 18:51:00 Are the sites slow to resolve - i.e. does the status bar of your browser say "Looking up www.blah.com", or has it already resolved and is just waiting for traffic - i.e. "Waiting for www.blah.com"? somebody (208)

Just tried them all at 7.50am Monday- all loaded fine,no lag. So there's nothing wrong with the sites at the moment.

1189755 2011-03-27 19:56:00 all listed site now working fine....

NOT a DNS issue, its waiting for traffic.
often waiting for sub-domains and ad-servers rather than the main site.

1189756 2011-04-01 23:02:00 so today even goggle wouldn't load.

I used bing (yuck!!) to do a search for how to reset the TCP stack.
after re-resetting the TCP stack all is good.

but it killed my VPN software (this was not the issues as it has been installed for months)

so at this stage, problem solved.
