| 1219826 | 2011-07-29 03:14:00 | I have a friend who is not online and (for various reasons) can not go online. I believe they have a virus or possibly trojan horse. Can anyone reccommend an easy to use free down-loadable virus scanner (all in one package) that I could put onto a flash drive and run on their computer and heal any issues without having to access the web. | 1219831 | 2011-07-29 03:52:00 | A short while ago, I made up the Nod32 rescue CD - If you have nod and the free huge download it requires you can make it your self other wise download the nod32 Rescue CD ISO (www.4shared.com) 174MB - burn it with your ISO software, boot from the CD, if the computer has a internet connected, it usually updates to the latest defs, other wise use the ones preinstalled. On that page, click the big blue "Download Now" button, wait for the timer to go through, - then a new download button will appear. Note: ignore the pop up asking about a tool bar . |

| 1219833 | 2011-07-29 04:28:00 | Why not use the CD I linked ?? Nod32 is better than Kaspersky. Personally I wouldn't use a flash drive with the infected PC, simply because if the Computer is infected with the right malware/Viruses, it will attack the USB drive the moment you try to use it. Oh BTW -- the Kaspersky --- Had it fail more times than I care to try and count - goes through the motions, but fails to actually load on some computers. |

| 1219835 | 2011-07-29 04:38:00 | @ Wainuitech... ki ora bro... Ok, Im liking the CD option a bit more. I was just a bit confused when you said "burn it with your ISO software, boot from the CD". Is it as simple as downloading the Nod32 Rescue CD ISO file (which I assume is 174MB big) and simply burning it to a CD (as data) that I insert into the infected computer and then boot and it automatically cleans up that system (which is pretty much working ok except for having USB port issues I am assuming is virus related)?
