| 1192448 | 2011-04-06 22:38:00 | Put the laptop in the dishwasher - works for desktop keyboards so why not laptops? :devil | pcuser42 (130) | ||
| 1192449 | 2011-04-06 23:25:00 | maybe on cold rinse with no detergent..... But a laptop has too many places to trap and hold water - you would have to leave it weeks without a battery to dry and even then it might not recover. A bit drastic really. If the keyboard can be replaced perhaps it can also be removed and cleaned. Incidentally I did actually intend to try the dishwasher on my G15 keyboard that has several keys stuck down or functioning erratically - but it's the original big one and it honestly will not fit in my diswasher. |

Don't do it! :eek: I ended up ruining my beloved G15 keyboard after a cleaning session went wrong. I had carefully removed all the keys, washed them, cleaned the keyboard using a cloth etc etc, left it all to dry for hours. But alas, upon plugging it back in a couple of my keys no longer function :crying So be very careful with any dampness on that keyboard. |
