1219943 2011-08-02 21:06:00 I guess you dont use the internet for much other than browsing this forum or checking your mail then.

Anything that involves viewing multiple images on the net would probably made you exceed that cap really fast. Could be anything ranging from viewing an online publication, to browsing for high resolution wall papers or a forum where people often post images such as artwork or drawings.

Want to view an occasional youtube clip or video on a news site? Screwed.

Even using google maps to find the route directions to a local hospital took a surprising large amount of bandwidth.
The only thing that you've mentioned that will chew through your data will be the video. Depending on the quality of the video it could be 10MB for a 5 min video, it could be 100MB.
An average wallpaper (Even at full-HD resolutions) is still probably somewhere around 250 -> 400KB, depending on what sort of compression / file-type, so you can still go through 1,000 of them and not even hit half a gig.

Online gaming generally does piss all. 20MB an hour is a *very* safe bet, excluding patches, unless you're hosting the game, or playing Minecrafting.

It sounds like there's something you're omitting about your online travels.

That, or your mates are being included in your "cap" and they're doing pr0n at night.

1219944 2011-08-02 22:35:00 Skype uses quite a bit, about 45MB/hour, audio only. zqwerty (97)
1219945 2011-08-03 01:28:00 Its supposedly 10gb per person, although i dont think they have any way to track per person usage at the moment.

I guess people on forums, etc dont always use the best compression methods...its not uncommon for me to see people posting 1mb+ images(that i dont go and expand). Part of it is also that i browse sites where people post images fairly frequently, although most of the ones that load are thumbnailed versions.

1219946 2011-08-03 02:17:00 Well then you've just solved your issue, adjust your browsing habits.

I'd also find out exactly how they're policing that 10GB per-person too. By MAC address, by port-on-the-wall...
