| 1219933 | 2011-07-31 06:43:00 | I suspect their only way to track users is via the network hardwares MAC address. If you switched your network plug over to a different adapter, or plugged in a different computer you might find another 10GB available to you... maybe. On the other hand, if you all have different logins to the network, then you might be up the creek. |

Turn off auto updates for windows and any software you use and only do it manually as required. Disconnect the network cable whenever you don't need to use the net. Use firefox with addblocker. Turn off flash Set your browser not to display images automatically. Go to the library and use books. Use a web based E-mail program. Wait till your flatmates are asleep and use their PC. Get a laptop and go find a free wireless hotspot. |

I guess you dont use the internet for much other than browsing this forum or checking your mail then. Anything that involves viewing multiple images on the net would probably made you exceed that cap really fast. Could be anything ranging from viewing an online publication, to browsing for high resolution wall papers or a forum where people often post images such as artwork or drawings. Want to view an occasional youtube clip or video on a news site? Screwed. Even using google maps to find the route directions to a local hospital took a surprising large amount of bandwidth. |

Anything that involves viewing multiple images on the net would probably made you exceed that cap really fast. Actually I do. What I don't do is download music or movies. I don't download games either much, have done but mostly I buy the disc. I do watch youtube stuff, watched the new zombie thing on TVNZ online the other day as I missed it on TV. I view a few sites with multiple pics. I use the maps frequently. The only thing I've seen eat data like crazy is downloading stuff like games and movies and playing online games. |
