So in the past couple of months 4 different celebrity broadcasters are having these linguistic attacks... Uhhh I have never heard of this sort of thing happening before.
And to so many people let alone one incidence. Something funky chicken is going on folks!
1. Serene Branson
2. Sarah Carlson
3. Mark McAllister
4. Judge Judy Sheindlin
Coincidence or Conspiracy?

Not so much American, but the way Kiwis speak (mostly the younger ones). Sometimes sounds just like a load of turkeys gobbling.

1191644 2011-04-03 22:11:00 The girl interviewer who interviewed Siobhan on the U channel the other day, was particularly appalling!
I really felt sorry for Siobhan in the way she was spoken to, as if she was a three year old.

LL

Thats because U is targeted towards 16-24 year olds, you had no right to be watching it:D

Which is stupid as most people that age know the most about this kind of thing...

Also as Siobhan said herself in the other thread, it was done to target viewers who would be asking those kind of questions...

If anything they are insulting us, the viewers...

I think it's called "Quack-talk", i.e. talking from the throat, without allowing the lips to properly form the words.

Just be thankful our news readers haven't reached that level. Yet.

1191648 2011-04-04 00:28:00 Subject line says it.
Is it really just me, being an older person, but do others have the same problem of not recognizing what some of the TV announcers say.

Whether it be news or adverts, I think that some of them either cannot speak clearly, or they just talk so fast, it just sounds like a lot of "yatter".
Surely if they wish to be understood at all, they need to slow down a little so we can all get the jist of what is being spoken!
That is my vent for today!

Another reason why we have MySky at home....<<< what did he say? > oh, okay!
