| 1220329 | 2011-08-01 05:15:00 | My wife going to Auckland for a conference, so thought I'd email the hotel (central city) to check on the internet access rates, since it's not on their website. I was sort of expecting perhaps free internet access (rooms are $130 a night after all) but was no expecting just how much they want to charge. Here's the rates from the email reply. Broadband available in the guest rooms @ $0.68 per minute or maximum cap in a 24hr Period of $29.90. $5.00 15mb or 1hr $10.00 30mb or 2hrs $20.00 60mb or 4hrs Long Stay rate of 5 days plus is $15.00 per day (charge if used or not). Am I being petty or do these seem excessive to anyone else? I don't think I'll be letting my wife have access to the internet at these sorts of $$. |

Arguably they are less than some of the international hotels. Most of which don't give them for free. Usually if you are a club member it is free however or if you have a club room. I understand that $50NZ equiv per day overseas is normal. Regular Kit Kat bar maybe $8NZ. Ditto a can of coke. |

| 1220337 | 2011-08-01 09:09:00 | Over the last 3 years we've spent 12 months travelling around the US/Canada over 3 seperate trips, always had free wi-fi in hotels/campground. Am I comparing NZ to that? Yup. |
