| 1219968 | 2011-07-29 23:39:00 | Hi, can anyone reccommend a free fully operational, easy to use, downloadable application that will convert .avi files to .vob (standard DVD video TS file format) so I can burn to a dvd and play in my player. I have downloaded 6 (so called free full versions) in the past hour which all have restrictions on them such as only converting 20% of file. Your assistance would be greatly appreciated. | 1219975 | 2011-08-23 02:13:00 | I had the same problem. I also used a lot of free converters. But none of them worked out. Then I've been recommended to use rersoft (www.rersoft.com). It was not free. But it's not very expensive and once I paid I can use it for free forever. It's free to update and there r free download patches for my portable advices. U want to burn it into a DVD, right? Commonly, converters only can convert yr videos to vob format, but it can not directly burn into a DVD. So I use rersoft's video converter to convert my movies to WMV, AVI, MPG formats which supported by Windows DVD Maker. Then I use the DVD Maker to burn the output file into DVD. If ur PC do not have Windows DVD Maker, u also could use DVD Style that dpDsignz recommended. |

| 1219976 | 2011-08-23 03:24:00 | I haven't done this in years so my advice is probably useless, but I always used to reencode to mpeg 2 using tmpenc and then burn using nerovision express using the option to not reencode compliant mpeg files. You can get a DVD player for <$100 that will play Xvid or DiVX without converting, just saying. |
