1194237 2011-04-13 02:48:00 Seems to be an australian/NZ brand.

How do you guys find it compared to lipton, dilmah, etc?
Question (15792)
1194238 2011-04-13 02:51:00 Personally I am not all that keen (I prefer Dilmah or Twinings), but Herself prefers Choysa, and buys it all the time.

I drink Earl Grey anyway in preference to gumboot tea so we have Choysa for her and Twinings Earl Grey for me.

AFAIK the brand has been around in NZ for decades.

1194239 2011-04-13 02:51:00 Bell tea is a NZ thing maybe ...

Never had Choysa. I like Twinnings - Earl Grey or when that's a bit strong, English Breakfast. Not too into exotic herbal teas myself (like lavender and stuff). I also like chinese tea and green tea.

1194240 2011-04-13 02:52:00 i prefer it over dilmah, I like the extra strong choysa. Dilmah seems to be lacking, even the strong version. aidanmaz (7180)
1194241 2011-04-13 02:56:00 Bit like beer for me, as long as its brown who cares Gobe1 (6290)
1194242 2011-04-13 02:59:00 Chuck some gum leaves into Choysa tea (not teabags) and make your tea the billy tea way, drink it black, and you have a very refreshing drink pioneered by the cuzzies across the ditch. John H (8)
1194243 2011-04-13 03:01:00 Oh well, I was wrong about the length of time Choysa has been around - from the Unilever website:

"New Zealanders have been brewing up Choysa tea for over 100 years and it has become an iconic Kiwi brand. It is referred to as the perfect tea because of its flavour, fragrance, strength and comforting and refreshing qualities. Choysa tea with its distinctive, bright red and yellow oval logo remains a top selling brand."

1194245 2011-04-13 03:40:00 Give it a try, Question. It's really the only way you will decide which brand or type of tea you prefer.
I think it would be cheaper than Liptons, Twinings and Dilmah. If it is still selling well then people must like it.

1194246 2011-04-13 04:16:00 Actually i bought a 100 box of Choysa tea a while back.

I find it pretty much undrinkable without substantial amounts of sugar and some milk though. Doesn't seem to have much flavour of its own, leaves you with a nasty dry bitter aftertaste too.
