| 1193028 | 2011-04-13 21:52:00 | UPDATE--- abclocal.go.com "Hey Joe! Where you goin' with that gun in your your hand?" - I've been waiting years to use that one!! :clap Exactly what is the point of walking around with an unloaded gun on your hip where the ammo has to be out of reach? Is it just 'cos they've got a right to or is it a small phallus complex? :annoyed: |

Where you goin' with that gun in your your hand?" - I've been waiting years to use that one!! :clap Exactly what is the point of walking around with an unloaded gun on your hip where the ammo has to be out of reach? Is it just 'cos they've got a right to or is it a small phallus complex? :annoyed: Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. OK - it's not a macho-thing. Ya gotta remember that there's more than a binary quality to people in the US - it's not just rednecks and ecologists. Personally I feel their wearing the pistol in public is more of a statement that you can get away with it and there's always the frustration with the 2nd Amendment and that it's being raped by do-gooders and anti-gun people. But as I see it - if you wear a gun, it'd better be loaded because unloaded it's a lousy weapon even in a knife fight. Some states - like I previously posted - don't care if you are CCW or Open-Carry - loaded or not - as long as you are a citizen of that state without a felony conviction and are not a naturalized ex-alien living in the US. I don't have any weapons any more - but I have no moral wrestling nor any other problems if I wanted to own and use them - it's just the blood-guilt problem I'd have afterwards. Perhaps they are just making a statement - but as sure as I am here typing this I know that civil unrest (commonly called 'civil war') is gonna happen here soon. Betting on a psychological reason WHY they provoke the police and the knee-jerk person who espy a weapon as totally deranged and usually owned by people who rob, steal, rape and generally are not upstanding citizens - is prolly the reason why they do it. For the publicity and to show that they still have at least a small semblance of the Constitutional right to bear arms. I don't believe in poking the bear by wearing a weapon - loaded or not - in public. Without a weapon in plain view - most people don't know HOW well armed I am and they'd rather not poke ME. This is the ASSUMPTION in those states that allow CCW in motor vehicles. Everybody is very friendly and courteous when driving next to anyone - even to the little old lady with the eternal left-turn signal flashing. She might have a .44 AutoMag on her lap. My best armament at the moment is my rapier-like wit. . |
