1221493 2011-08-10 11:41:00 So looking at the site, this is as easy as downloading the relevant file and then burning it to a DVD (do I need anything special to do that running Win7) - and then booting from the disc, using the official key and there you go a clean install instead of the bloated one from the recovery partition? 1221494 2011-08-10 11:44:00 Yup just download burn it, install it, and use the right key. Otherwise it may not activate Speedy Gonzales (78)
1221495 2011-08-10 21:49:00 I have just repaired my Windows 7 Ultimate x64 PC here this morning (gadgets kept disappearing and a Live Mail issue) using X17-59465.iso

Repaired and now apparently running perfectly.
It does require input of licence details at the very end or it may revert to a 30 day trial.
Expect a few post updates online - mine 14 - 74MB.

Thank you to the OP - @communal

YMMV.

1221496 2011-08-14 00:52:00 I guess I am missing something. I downloaded the relevant .iso and then burned it to a DVD (just using windows) but then I thought I only had to put the DVD in and restart the laptop and it would look to install, but nothing happens.

Have I done something wrong?

1221497 2011-08-14 01:01:00 So is the Laptop set to boot from the CD/DVD?

And burn the DVD using IMGBURN rather than windows or it's likely it will not boot off it.

Will check the boot order. In Bios settings?
