1194162 2011-04-25 12:39:00 I think they will target anyone who they suspect is downloading something they are interesting in protecting the copyright of.

So most likely it all depends on what you download, not how much you download.

For example, I doubt they will chase you up for downloading abandonware DOS games from 1985...

Who is the "they"?

Have you yet read the Bill and remember it does not come into force until Sept this year. Then it has to be enforced does it not?

1194163 2011-04-25 13:00:00 For the record I'm using 187.18 Megabytes per day currently. My billing cycle starts at midnight on the 8th of the month.

Includes Win and Office updates for a dual boot system XP and Win7 both Pro and 64 bit.

Yes I do watch youtube and on demand TV.

Expect what you like. Eventually some person or person(s) may be charged, or have their access to the Internet removed or whatever.

1194166 2011-04-25 20:47:00 Oh absolutely it's *going* to happen, but for the better part internet users should be less worried about browsing sites like YouTube etc, and more worried about not using P2P file-sharing apps like Bearshare / Limewire / Bittorrent to download anything like Music / Movies / Games. P2P is what the main focus will be, as mentioned it can be difficult for copyright holders to acquire logs from servers if it's statically served, IF they keep logs at all.

Other than that, for the better part, end-users will be fine.

1194167 2011-04-26 08:16:00 Just a point. Say theres a movie/documentary on sky tonight but you cant watch it at the moment and programmed the Dvd recorder wrong. Its not going to be back on Sky for months if ever so you find it on the net and download it to watch at your leisure. Seeing as you've already paid thru your Sky fees to watch the program surely its not an illegal download. If it was recording the program directly from Sky would be too. Wondering. Clod (7853)

Just another justification for doing stuff that may be illegal!

1194169 2011-04-26 10:06:00 Thats the point would it legal or not. Clod (7853)
1194170 2011-04-26 12:11:00 Under law that would be illegal, under common sense it should be allowed, especially if you already paid for the privileged of watching it anyway. Agent_24 (57)
