1221670 2011-08-08 04:15:00 Hi, I have a Toshiba laptop (C650) that decided to envoke the BIOS password. Was shut down normally one night then on startuo just give the enter password prompt.... gggrrrrr

I get the F2 for setup and the F12 boot options (if your quick you see it) but neither work, always end up back at enter password!!

It is a insyde H20 BIOS

Any help appreciated.

Cheers

1221671 2011-08-08 05:11:00 You need to know the password in order to reset the password.

Failing that you've got only two other options:

A backdoor (factory) password
Removing the battery or shorting the BIOS to reset it - either way, it'll likely involve pulling it apart, unless you can find a tiny hole leading to a reset button.

1221672 2011-08-08 05:25:00 Some (Older) Toshiba laptops let you reset the password with a special parallel-port connected dongle.

You plugged it in and turned the machine on, and the password was automatically removed.
